Hi, I'm Luis 👋
Let's talk quantum.
I’m a big picture thinker. I like to explore quantum technologies to push the limits of what’s possible, both in theory and in the real world.
I’m a big picture thinker. I like to explore quantum technologies to push the limits of what’s possible, both in theory and in the real world.
I love working on hard problems. I’m fascinated about quantum technologies and believe they will one day make a meaningful impact on the world by solving some of the hardest problems that directly impact our daily lives. My focus is on the quantum version of light—single photons, the tiniest building blocks of light.
Right now, I’m a junior researcher at QOIL, the Quantum Optics and Information Lab at Griffith University, where I work alongside a fantastic team on the next generation of single-photon technologies.
Beyond the lab, I want to make quantum science accessible to everyone. I’ve had the privilege of sharing this passion through public speaking and comedy, performing at events like the Brisbane Comedy Festival and (very soon!) the World Science Festival, combining science communication with humor.
As my career unfolds, I’m excited by the challenges that lie ahead, hoping that these experiences will help contribute to a future that’s as impactful as it is rewarding.
My thesis was titled “Quantum networking with ultrahigh-performance entangled photon sources.”
